Melvin E. Timmons, 86, of Arlington Heights, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015. Melvin was born in Chicago, May 17, 1929. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan of 60 years. His loving children Kim (Hank) Taft, Scott (Miriam) Timmons, Jason (Kalina) Timmons. Cherished Step Grandfather of Mike Taft. He is preceded in death by his parents William M. and Marie (nee Posanke) Timmons.
Mel was a lifelong tennis enthusiast, he was captain of Parker High School and I.I.T. College teams. He was inducted into the Chicago Tennis Hall of Fame in 2009.
Visitation Tuesday 3-6 PM at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central (at Northwest Highway), Mt. Prospect. Private family services will be held Wednesday.
